If your a hockey fan and were looking forward to realignment and the modified playoff format, you going to have to wait. According to the NHL website  realignment will not go into effect next season as originally planned since the NHLPA will not give its consent. No specific reason was given as to why the NHLPA refuses to go along with th realignment, probably a really dumb reason, the NHL had to postpone it since there is not enough time left to set up the schedule for next season under the proposed realignment plan.
