The Phillies took game one of their day-night doubleheader with the Rockies by the score of 3-2. Just like Frigay night’s game the Rockies jumped out to a 2-0 lead, and this time it was Ryan Howard with a two run double that tied it up in the bottom of the third. The score stayed that way until the bottom of the ninth when John Maberry Jr. ended it with a RBI single that Rockies OF John Gonzalez just couldn’t come up with. Cole Hamels pitched well enough to win but just like Cliff Lee left with a no decision. The win pulls the Phillies to within 3 game of .500 at 68-71, and only 6.5 games back in the wild card race. Tyler Cloyd will be on the mound looking for the double header and, series weep in game 2.
