Here is The Sports Den’s prediction, or guess on how the NFC South is going to end up at the end of the 2013 season. These predictions depend on how healthy each team stays.
NFC South – 2013 Final Standings
1. Atlanta Falcons – The Falcons won this division last season with a 13-3 record. They did release John Abraham, and Michale Turner. Tony Gonzalez decided to return instead of retire, and they did sign Stephen Jackson, and OSI Umenyiora. The Saints will give them a run for their money, but they should win the division again. 12-4
2. New Orleans Saints – The Saints finished the 2012 season with a 7-9 record that was without Sean Payton, and the other problems from bounty gate. Sean Payton is back and Rob Ryan is the new Defensive Coordinator. Will improve from last year, but not enough to knock off the Falcons. 10-6.
3. Carolina Panthers – The Panthers went on a four game winning streak at the end of the 2012 season to finish 7-9, and head coach Ron Rivera kept his job for another year. Don’t see this team making a run at anything yet.Could show some improvement, if not the coaching staff is probably gone. 9-7
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The third team in this division to finish 2012 with a 7-9 record. Probably not going to do much better than last year. 8-8
