The Colorado Avalanche beat the Flyers 2-1 on Thursday night to end the Flyers winning streak at 4 games. Goals by Jamie McGinn, and Ryan O’Reilly gave the Avalanche a 2-0 lead. Wayne Simmonds’ 13th goal of the season cut it to 2-1, and that would turn out to be the final score. The Avalanche have now won six straight at home against the Flyers. The Flyers reach the official halfway point of the season with a 20-17-4 record, good enough for third in the Metropolitan Division for now. Not bad considering the way the season started.
