The way the season started the Sports Den didn’t think this was going to happen. The Flyers clinched a spot in the playoffs with a 5-2 win over the Panthers on Tuesday night. After a scoreless first period, and probably a little pep talk from Craig Berube, the Flyers scored four second period goals, Vincent Lecavalier (20), Claude Giroux 2 (27), Sean Couturier (11), and took a 4-0 lead into the third period. Erik Gudbranson (3), and Jonathan Huberdeau (9) cut it 4-2 early in the third, but Tye McGinn (4) put the game on ice with just under five minutes left. The Flyers improved to 41-29-9, and the Panthers drop to 28-48-8.
