The Flyers and Lightning were tied 1-1 heading into the third period. Unfortunately for the Flyers (41-31-9) the Lightning (44-27-9) struck three times to come away with a 4-2 win. The Flyers lock themselves out of finishing in second place in the Metropolitan Division, and guarantees they start the playoffs on the road. Depending on what happens in the next two games the Flyers could open the playoffs in Boston, Pittsburgh or New York.
