Game 3 between the Flyers and Rangers started out the same as Game 2 with the Rangers jumping out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Derek Stepan (2), and Martin St. Louis (2), and Mark Streit’s goal for the Flyers cutting it to 2-1 at the end of one. Unfortunately for the Flyers that’s where the similarities to game 2 would end, and the similarities to game 1 would take over. Dan Girardi’s (1) goal early in the second stole any momentum the Flyers had, and gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. Dan Carcillo’s third period goal would make the final score 4-1 in favor of the Rangers.
