Steve Mason did everything he could to keep the Flyers season alive but the Rangers came away with the 2-1 win and move on, and the Flyers start making tee times. After a scoreless first Dan Carcillo, and Benoit Pouliot gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead after two. Jason Akeson cut it to 2-1 early in the third to give Flyers fans some hope, but that’s as close as they would get.
