The NBA made it official, announcing the the Philadelphia 76ers Michael Carter-Williams is the winner of the Eddie Gottlieb Award for being the 2013-14 NBA Rookie of the Year. He becomes only the second 76er ti win the award, Allen Iverson 1996-97. He received 104 of a possible 124 first place votes, and is only the third rookie since 1950-51 (Oscar Robertson 1960-61, Alvin Adams 1975-76) to lead all rookies in scoring, rebounding and assists.
