Phillies Lose To Nationals

Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg held a team meeting that had little effect as the Phillies were shutout by the Nationals 7-0 for their fourth straight loss. David Buchanan (1-2) went seven innings giving up 7 ER on 10 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The only bright spot was Eric Martin who pitched two scoreless inning in relief. The Phillies fall to eight games below .500 at 24-32, and get just a little closer to blowing up the team. The Nationals improve to 28-28.
