The Phillies and Padres open up a three game series on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies are coming off a 4-1 loss top the Reds, and the Padres are coming off a 6-0 loss to the Nationals. Unless some sort of miracle turn around happens both teams will be looking to be sellers, not much to sell, at trading time with the Phillies (25-36) in last in the NL East 7.5 games back, and the Padres (28-35) in fourth place 13.5 games back in the NL West. The Phillies are 12-19 at home, while the PadresĀ are 12-16 on the road, so don’t expect great baseball. Keep the fingers crossed, and maybe the Phillies might have a 3 game winning streak after this series, yes The Sports Den might be doing a little bit of wishful thinking.
