The Phillies continued to be a disappointment in front of the home fans at Citizens Bank Park losing game 1 of a day night doubleheader 10-3 to the Braves. It started off good enough with the Phillies taking a 2-0 lead after two. The game started to go down hill when Ryan Howard committed two errors in the fourth that allowed the Braves to tie it 2-2. Juston Upton gave the Braves a 4-2 lead with a two run double in the sixth inning. Antonio Bastardo came into the game in the eighth and threw gasoline on the fire allowing the Braves to blow the game open with five more runs. The Phillies scored a meaning less run in the bottom of the eighth, and the Braves added one more for good measure in the ninth. The Phillies drop to eight games below .500 at 36-44, and six games back. The Braves improve to 42-38 and stay tied with the Nationals for first in the NL east.

The Phillies dropped their third straight game losing game 2 of their day night doubleheader with the Braves 5-1. The Braves scored three runs in the top of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie to take a 4-1 lead. the Braves added another run in the eighth. The Phillies drop to nine games below .500 at 36-45, and fall to 18-27 at home, and fall to 7 games behind the Braves. The Braves improve 43-28, and will stay at least tied for first in the NL East. The Phillies will try to avoid being swept on Sunday afternoon.
