The Padres put to rest any hopes of a Phillies comeback with three runs in the bottom of the eighth to go up 7-1. The Phillies ended the scoring with a pair of runs in the ninth. The Phillies have now struck out 1,334 times this season which is a new franchise record. The Phillies drop to 70-83, and have lost 8 of their last 12 games. The Padres improve to 71-81.
