The Phillies dropped 3 out of 4 to the Padres after a 7-3 loss on Thursday night. Alexi Amarista gave the Padres a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the second. The Phillies tied it up 1-1 with a run in the fourth. The Padres took 2-1 in the bottom of the inning, and added a run in the fifth, and another in the sixth to go up 4-1. The Padres put to rest any hopes of a Phillies comeback with three runs in the bottom of the eighth to go up 7-1. The Phillies ended the scoring with a pair of runs in the ninth. The Phillies have now struck out 1,334 times this season which is a new franchise record. The Phillies drop to 70-83, and have lost 8 of their last 12 games. The Padres improve to 71-81.
