The Phillies dropped game 3 to the A’s 8-6 in 10 innings. It was a see saw battle with the Phillies taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, and the A’s countering with three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Phillies responded with two runs in the third to tie it at 3-3,but the A’s countered again with a run in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-3 lead. The Phillies responded again with a run in the top of the fourth to tie it up 4-4. The A’s countered again with two runs in the bottom of the fifth
to take a 6-4 lead. Again the Phillies responded by putting up two runs in the top of the sixth. The score would stay that way until the bottom of the tenth when Josh Donaldson would end the scoring and the game with a two run homer.
