After an 8-0 loss to the Red Sox on opening day the Phillies bounced back to take game 2 of the series 4-2. Maybe the weather had something to do with it but Aaron pitch a gem going 6 1/3 innings, giving up just 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 8 to pick up his first win with the Phillies. Jeff Francour ended the Phillies scoreless streak at 14 1/3 innings with a three run homer in the bottom of the sixth to put the Phillies up 3-0. Chase Utley’s sacrifice fly in the seventh put the Phillies up 4-0. A Darrin Ruf error and a shaky Ken Giles allowed the Red Sox to score two unearned runs in the eighth, but Jonathan ( I don’t feel much like a Phillie) Papelbon came in to save the game and give the Phillies the 4-2 win. The Phillies (1-1), and Red Sox (1-1) will battle for the series win on Thursday night.
