An implosion by the bullpen on Saturday night was the reason the Phillies lost to the Giants by the score of 8-5. After the Phillies took a 4-1 lead in the top of the sixth on a solo home run by Ryan Howard, and a two run home run by Cody Asche, Phillies manager Pete Mackanin took starter David Buchanan out of the game. The Phillies bullpen would then turn that 4-1 lead into an 8-4 deficit by giving up 5 runs in the sixth, and two more in the seventh that made it 8-4 Giants after seven. The Phillies would end the scoring in the ninth on a Odubel Herrera RBI double. The Phillies fall to 29-61, and the Giants improve to 45-43.
