The Phillies extended their winning streak to four games with a 5-3 win over then Tampa Bay Rays in game 1 of a three game series on Monday night. The Rays took a 2-0 lead off Phillies starter David Buchanan, who won his 1st game of the season, and snapped a 15 game win less streak, in the top of the second on a Logan Forsythe two run double. The Phillies responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-2 lead thanks to a wild pitch that scored Jeff Francoeur, and a two run double by Cesar Hernandez. RBI singles by Maikel Franco and Darin Ruf in the fifth made it 5-2 Phillies. Brandon Guyer would knock inn the last run of the game in the top of the seventh.to make it 5-3. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless ninth form his sixteenth save of the season. The Phillies are now 33-62, and the Rays lose their second straight and fall to 47-48.
