The Phillies lost to the Dodgers by the score of 10-8 in the series finale on Thursday afternoon to finish 2-5 against the Dodgers this season. After giving up 7 runs in the first three innings David Buchanan might have pitched his way back to the minors. After getting the first two outs to start the game Buchanan gave up three runs before getting the final pout in the first. In what could only be described as a surprising development the Phillies roughed up Zack Greinke for five runs in the bottom of the inning that included a a two run double by Ryan Howard, and a three run homer by Domonic Brown to take a 5-3 lead. Unfortunately that lead didn’t last long. Adrian Gonzalez’s three run homer in the second put the Dodgers back in front 6-5. It wasn’t one of Zack Greinke’s best days on the mound but it was a helluva day at the plate. Greinke went 3/3, with three runs scored and 1 RBI that came on solo home run in the third that put the Dodgers up 7-5. Domonic Brown ppicked up his fourth RBI of the game on a RBI single in the third to cut it to 7-6. Unfortunately for the Phillies the Dodgers added three more ruins in the sixth on a two run double by Howie Kendrick, and a sacrifice fly by Yasmani Grandal. Maikel Franco finished the scoring with a two run double in the bottom of the ninth and that’s how it ended. The Phillies lose their second straight and fall to 42-67, and the Dodgers improve to 62-46.
