The Phillies extended their winning streak to three games, and picked up their 50th win of the season by beating the Marlins 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. The story of this game was Aaron Nola. Nola pitched eighth scoreless innings giving up just three hits, walking two and striking out six to improve to 4-1. Kenn Giles pitched a scoreless ninth for his tenth save. Aaron Altherr gave the Phillies a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the third, and Cameron Rupp (5) capped the scoring with a solo home run in the seventh. The Phillies (50-74) are now tied with the Marlins (50-74) for fourth in the NL East.
