The Mets completed the four game sweep of the Phillies with a 9-5 come from behind 13 inning win. Things were looking good for the Phillies after a two run single by Jeff Francoeur, a RBI ground out by Aaron Altherr, and a two run homer by Darin Ruf (6) gave the Phillies a 5-0 lead after three. Unfortunately for the Phillies no lead is safe when Aaron Harang is on the mound. Harang surrendered a two run homer to Travis d’Arnaud (9) in the fourth to cut it to 5-2 Phillies. In the fifth Harang surrendered a two run homer to Yoenis Cespedes, and a solo home run to Kelly Johnson, and that quick the game was tied 5-5. It stayed that way until the 13th inning when the Mets scored four runs to go up 9-5 and that’s the way it ended. The Phillies lose their fourth straight overall, and their ninth straight to the Mets and fall to 50-78. The Mets win their seventh straight and are now 71-56.
