While the Mets and Nationals opened up a three game series for first place in the NL East, the Braves and Phillies opened a three game series for the opposite end of the division. The Braves came into this series riding a twelve game losing streak, and the Phillies came in riding a four game losing streak. Unfortunately the Phillies losing streak continues, and now is up to five games after a 7-2 loss. Freddie Freeman (16) gave the Braves a 2-0 lead in the first with a two run home run. The Phillies cut it to 2-1 on a Aaron Altherr sacrifice fly in the second. A pair of doubles in the fourth gave the Braves a 5-1 lead. The Phillies cut it to 5-2 on a Brian Bogusevic’s first home run of the season, and first big league homer since 2013. Hector Oliver capped off the scoring with a two run homer in the ninth. The Phillies fall to 53-85 with the loss and the Braves get to 55-83 with the win. Categories: Uncategorized
