The Flyers and Capitals played game 1 of their series on Thursday night. After the Flyers failed on three power plays in the first period the Capitals took control of the games in the second. The Capitals took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal late in the second and put the game away with a goal late in the third. Sean Couturier left the game with an injury, no word yet on the extent of the injury. The Capitals lead series 1-0.
