The Phillies finished up their nine game home stand 5-4 after dropping the series finals to the Cardinals 9-0. The Phillies have now lost seven straight games that Vince Velasquez has started whom was roughed up by the Cardinals to the tune of seven hits and five runs in six innings. Phillies’ reliever Frank Herrman was toughed up for three hits and four runs in just two thirds of an inning. The Phillies drop two out of three to the Cardinals and fall to 58-67, and the Cardinals improve to 66-57.
