The Phillies used a three run ninth inning to steal a 4-3 victory over the Nationals in game 1 of a day/night double header. Home runs by Bryce Harper, and Trea Turner gave the Nationals a 3-0 lead. Tommy Joseph cut it to 3-1 with a solo home run in the seventh. Aaron Altherr led off the ninth with a solo shot to make it 3-2. Maikel Franco and Cameron Rupp hit back to back doubles that tied the score 3-3. After Freddy Galvis walked Ty Kelly would single to score Andrew Knapp with the eventual winning run.Hector Neris pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth to pick up the save. The Phillies improve to 14-20, and the nationals drop to 23-13.
