The Phillies improved to 3-0 after completing the sweep of the Braves with a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon. The Phillies took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Andrew Knapp’s (1) solo home run. The Braves tied it in the seventh on Travis d’Arnaud’s (1) solo home run off Zach Eflin. Eglin went seven strong innings giving up just 1 run, 4 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 8. Hopefully the Phillies, and their fans see more of this Zach Eflin. The Phillies took the lead for good on Alex John’s RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. Hector Neris pitched out of a little trouble in the nineth, which was good to see, to pick up his first save, hopefully many more to come, of the season. The Small Sports Blog would like to talk more about the job the bullpen did this weekend but we might jinx them. Anyway the Phillies season got off to a good start.
