The Mets take round 5 4-2 over the Phillies and now have a four game winning streak against our favorite tream. Just like Johan Santana on Friday night Saturday’s starter Oliver Perez kept the Phillies off balance 7 K’s in 5 2/3 innings along with 5 walks. Jamie Moyer took an early hit from David Wrights 2 run double in the first inning but settled down and held the Mets in check through six innings. In the seventh inning Jose Reyes hit Ryan Madson with a two run homer effectively putting the game out of reach. Chase Utley hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh, and Carlos Ruiz added an RBI single in the eighth but it wasn’t enough. Billy Wagner shut the door in the nineth for the save.
Round 6 – Citizen’s Bank Park, Sunday April 20th, 8:00pm
Phillies – Adam Eaton (0-0, 4.12)
Mets – Mike Pelfrey (2-0, 1.50)
