The Flyers continued their trend of losing the odd numbered games in the series against the Rangers by losing Sunday’s game 5 matinee at MSG 4-2. Marc Staal (1), Brad Richards (20, and Dominic Moore (2) gave the Rangers a 3-0 lead before Vincent Lecavalier (1) cut it to 3-1 with his first playoff goal with :33 left in the second period. Claude Giroux (1) cut it to 3-2 with his first goal of the playoffs with 1:29 left in the third. Unfortunately the Rangers Brian Boyle(1) hit the empty net to put the game in ice, and force the Flyers to win game 6 or start making tee times.
