The Sports Den would like to take this time to thank the Arizona Diamondbacks SS Martin Prado, and manager Kirk Gibson for the extremely early, or late Xmas gift on Saturday night. Thank you Kirk Gibson for taking Bronson Arroyo out of the game in the top of the seventh and allowing the Phillies to start their come back by scoring two runs, and cutting your lead to 5-2 heading into the eighth inning. Thank you Martin Prado for dropping Ryan Howard’s pop up in the eighth that opened the flood gates to a four run inning allowing the Phillies to take a 6-5 lead. Thank you again Kirk Gibson for sticking with Trevor Cahill long enough to allow the Phillies to take the lead, pick up a blown save, and the loss. The only reason The Sports Den could come up with as to why the Diamondbacks would allow this to happen is they felt guilty for scoring five runs off of Cliff Lee in the first three innings, and wanted to let him off the hook. they also wanted guarantee that the Phillies would break even on their ten game road trip, and get back to .500 at 12-12.
Player of the Game:
