The Cubs completed the sweep with a 7-3 win over the Phillies in game 2 of Friday’s double header. Kyle Schwarber started things off with a solo home run in the first, then followed that with a two run homer in the second to give the Cubs a quick 3-0 lead. The Phillies got on the board in the fourth when Odubal Herrera scored on Andres Blanco’s ground out. Chris Coghlan’s RBI double, and Kris Bryant’s two run home run in the fifth put the Cubs up 6-1, and ended Alec Asher’s night. The Phillies got one of those runs back in the bottom half of the inning on a Cody Asche double to cut it to 6-2. Kris Bryant put the Cubs up 7-2 with a RBI single in the seventh. Brian Bogusevic made it a 7-3 final with a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. The Phillies lose their third straight and fall to 54-88, and the Cubs improve to 82-58.
